She’s a 3-year-old, 45 lb Catahoula/Lab/Hound mix. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, house trained and a very pretty dog!
Taika LOVES people and is especially good with kids. She was fantastic with my son as a toddler and was very patient and gentle with him. She’s affectionate, playful, smart, athletic, and very food motivated. She loves car rides, trails, camping, and being outdoors, but can also be a couch potato for a lazy weekend. She’s good at the vet, knows Sit and Down, and has been trained with a remote collar and wireless fence. She does not guard food or toys. She’s a great alert dog but is friendly with everyone and has made friends with the FedEx drivers.
Taika has been around cats both indoors and outdoors and has done well with them, although she does show some interest. She has also been around ducks, chickens, turkeys, horses, and mules and generally does well with them, both at home and on the trail. She has even been protective of my ducks, but someone once reported that she chased their chickens. She does well in a dog run with or without other dogs for short periods and doesn’t dig or jump fences. She does well with male dogs, including dogs she has just met, and has been great with puppies.
