I found Lilly through Craigslist about 7 years ago. Someone had dumped her on a dirt road near Redding and a kind woman took her home and posted her. I fell in love with her big, beautiful brown eyes.
Initially she scratched constantly and chewed until she had open sores, so I took her to the vet. But after a bit, when his meds did nothing I realized that Lilly had food allergies. After years of experimenting I have found her perfect diet; chicken and carrots. It’s easy to do this — I promise that it is not a negative.
She would become your constant companion if you gave her a home. She’s playful, even at 10 years old, she’s affectionate, very loyal and loving.
Lilly needs an older person or couple; no kids. (She has been beaten and kicked and I suspect by a kid.) She’d like someone who will throw a ball with her, play ‘keep-away’, take her for walks and rides. Someone who will chill on the couch with her head in their lap. She’s wonderful with cats, chickens and — possibly another dog.
Lilly has a bed, leashes and toys. She also comes with cooked C&C and frozen chicken and fresh carrots to get you started. She also comes with acidophilous which I add to her breakfast and she’ll bring her food dish.
If you are interested in meeting Lilly respond to this ad and tell me a bit about yourself, please. You will not be sorry!
Why am I re-homing her? I have to go into Senior housing and they don’t allow dogs over 35 pounds — Lilly weighs about 65. Just another tragic element of growing old, but heartbreaking.
