Roxie is perfect for a family who isn’t super active. She is reactive to a lot of things in the outside world, which means she loves being inside and safe with her humans! Roxie sometimes prefers to be in her own bed, but loves attention and unlimited pets when she does want to snuggle with you. If she’s tired enough, she’ll sleep right next to you.
Roxie can be stubborn; sometimes in the cutest ways. She will try to do all the tricks– like spin, bow, and whisper– if she knows if you have one of her (many!) favorite treats!
Roxie is okay with some dog friends if they are properly introduced and her parent knows that sometimes she needs space and will tell her dog friend that with a light nip. She needs her human to advocate for her and not put her into unsafe or overwhelming situations with other dogs or people. Roxie will react if she sees dogs, cats, loud vehicles, and people on scooters and bikes. She has an okay recall, but it is not reliable unless heavily worked on, especially near any triggers.
Roxie is great for the vet. Her current parents have taken her to lots of checkups. She stands well when her ears are being checked, but needs extra patience when it comes to nail trims.
Overall, she is a wonderful dog and will always be as long as her parents understand her.
The few kids she has been around know dogs, and she did wonderful with them. Her sitter had 2 younger daughters, around the ages of 8 and 12. Her current parents have nieces and nephews under 15.
