My name is Sam, I am 9 years old and in need of a new home. One of Sam’s owners passed last year and in that time the other family members are moving and sadly he can not come with us. He has been a great dog to our family. Sam has been a family dog for over 8 years, he came to us from the pound full of energy and lots of love to give. He does great with kids, however he can get overly stimulated and get too exited when kids are roughhousing but has never bit anyone. He loves and gets along great with his cats, and dogs he knows. He’s a couch potato but still has energy to go for hikes, swimming in the lake (careful he is bottom-heavy) walks, and playing fetch. He takes treats gently from your hand. With the many changes this last year Sam gets separation anxiety. We are not sure how he’d do with livestock. He does well in homes where his family is around or able too take him along with them. Sam loves car rides. Sam does not like toy guns or guns. He was at his Grandpa’s side till the end, always keeping him company, that’s a place Sam belongs. He is getting older still seems like a younger dog. He will be missed but we want what’s best for him. A home full of love, attention, treats, long walks and car rides.
