Capone is a great dog for the right person or people. He needs to be in a home with someone who understands the mastiff mentality and can be a firm yet gental leader. He listens pretty well and he loves being with his people. He has gotten along well with Aussies, a Basset Hound, puppies, but he needs to be supervised (he gets short burst of energy and can be rough without knowing it). If you know mastiffs, you know what I mean–it’s like a bull in the China shop. He eats pretty light for a mastiff 1 1/2-2 cups morning and night depending on winter or summer, of a good quality dog food. I’ve never had any vet issues with him, he’s always been a very healthy boy. He had a over-exerted preydrive when I got him, but I got him to stop chasing my cat, but that would be a case by case basis and depending on how good of a dog trainer you are he would not do well with free-roaming livestock unless you are a very good dog trainer. He is generally a pretty medium low energy level. He has definitely gotten better at riding in the car. And he has gotten pretty good reviews from dog groomers. As far as commands he knows Come, Sit, Wait, Release, Down, Load Up. Still needs work on Stay. He knows Leave It! well lol.
