A year ago began the hardest year our family has ever had. We ended up having multiple losses to our family, with 3 of our cats and our 3 dogs passing away. Our last dog passed away 2 months before we met Mary who fosters for Rescue Ranch. After chatting with her for a couple weeks about a female pup she was fostering, we started questioning if we were truly ready to add to our heartbroken family. Then the Ranch had an adoption event, so we drove down to just get around pups. I didn’t think we’d actually come home with anyone, but my husband was hopeful. He walked several pups, while I sat and cried for our girls who were no longer with us. I didn’t think I’d ever be able to open my heart up again. Then I walked into one of the puppy pens and they were making me laugh. We took 2 pups out for a walk and we both started to be filled with joy. We weren’t trying to replace our girls, we missed having dogs and we wanted to also give those cute babies a loving home. We ended up adopting a brother and sister. We are so happy we did it and we love having them in our family. They are growing so fast. They haven’t even turned 6 months yet and Ransom (male) is already over 60lbs and Onyx (female) is just over 40lbs. Oynx has been going to work with me where I train horses and give riding instructions. At first it was scary for her, but now she is enjoying it. Ransom also went and he enjoyed meeting people. Oynx still gets nervous around other dogs and people, but we are working on that.
Thank you Rescue Ranch team for the great care you give the animals and helping us add onto our family.
