Challenging times require creative solutions. That’s why we’re so grateful for our diverse and talented team of dog lovers. We may be few in number. But together our vision, passion, determination, and ingenuity make us mighty. Thanks to the energetic support of our community and the creativity and hard work of our team, our first-ever Rescue Ranch spaghetti feed fundraiser was something to bark about!
A spaghetti feed fundraiser for the dogs
Up, Up & A-Pawsta! was the brainchild of our talented Adoption Center office manager Jada Smith. As with all first-time events, there was a learning curve. But Jada’s event experience, skillful planning, and tireless organizing brought the spaghetti feed fundraiser together smoothly. The result was truly something to be proud of.
Our spaghetti feed fundraiser took place on a warm evening toward the beginning of July. Many thanks to the Montague Community Hall for the spacious venue and Lorenzini’s Pizza & Pasta for a tasty Italian-style dinner. Tickets were $25 and included a generous helping of spaghetti along with caesar salad, garlic bread, and brownie. While the hall was humming and the seats were full, the drive-through option was a smart addition that helped include those who couldn’t stay.
The heart of the event was definitely the community spirit that filled the hall and fueled the auctions and raffle. Themed baskets stuffed with eye-catching goodies and other prizes were arranged on tables along the walls, where visitors could bid at their leisure on a wide range of generous offers.
The dessert auction was especially well received. Steered by Harold McFall’s spirited auctioneering, there was laughter and rivalry aplenty as bidders competed for an array of tempting desserts donated by local bakers.
The power of community
Altogether, our spaghetti feed fundraiser raised $5,708 toward the care of our rescue dogs. It’s a testament to the power of what we can achieve when we all pitch in together. This experience gave us a solid foundation to build on for future events and we’re inspired to set our sights still higher.
