Did you know that poodles are water dogs? Like other curly-haired water dogs, they don’t have an undercoat to protect them. Instead, those tight curls trap the water before it reaches the skin. It might seem hard to believe, but Poodles originally perfomed a variety of aquatic activities like duck hunting, retrieving objects from the water, or even ferrying messages between ships.
