Please remember that your dog’s sensitive paw pads are not impervious to heat or cold. If it’s 85 degrees outside, asphalt can reach temperatures above 130! So, if you’re going to walk your dog on a surface with sustained exposure to high temperatures, do a hand test. Place your palm on the surface for seven seconds. Is it too hot for your hand? Then it’s too hot for your dog.
