“Puppy dog eyes” may have evolved to manipulate you

A 2019 study claims that the exceptionally mobile eyebrow muscles of dogs come from their long association with humans. Apparently the trait evolved to help dogs to get what they wanted. Wolves and related breeds, like Siberian huskies, lack the ability. So if you’ve ever felt that your dog was using its eyebrows to avoid reprimand or to obtain an extra treat, it was. But then deep down you already knew that, right? 🙂
