Did you know there are three ridgeback breeds? Best known is the Rhoedsian ridgeback: an athletic, African dog of 70-85lbs. Then there’s Thai ridgeback, weighing in at 35-75 lbs. Unlike its African counterpart, the Thai version has up eight different ridge patterns! Finally, the extremely rare Phu Quoc Ridgeback is found on an island in southern Vietnam. With a blue tougue, webbed feet, and five possible ridge patterns, this fast runner, good swimmer, and great tracker has yet to be recognized by clubs outside of Vietnam.
