Gentle Mowgli is anything but a jungle pup! This remarkable young dog has all the qualities to make a faithful service dog and beloved family companion. It’s almost impossible to believe he’s less than a year old. With a foundation like his, he’s sure to excel wherever his journey takes him.
Mowgli came to Rescue Ranch when he was just a few weeks old. Thanks to lots of socialization with his siblings, other puppies and our nanny dogs, he has excellent dog-to-dog social skills. And thanks to our wonderful volunteer trainers, he’s more than ready to make an adopter happy. At barely seven months old, this boy has all the basics in place. He’s quiet, walks beautifully on leash, and knows Sit, Down, Wait, and Come. He’s so kind, responsive, and tuned in to his human that we’re confident he’d shine as a service dog.
To that end, Mowgli has had lots of experience out and about. He rides quietly in the car, walks calmly by his human’s side in public spaces, and is non-reactive around other dogs, livestock, and even wild deer. Like any happy dog, he loves making new friends and enjoys his nature walks and sniffing the scenery. But when his human is resting or visiting with a friend, Mowgli lies patiently at their feet until it’s time to continue. He loves adventures but is surprisingly mellow and doesn’t need to stay constantly busy to be happy. He’d thrive in any family, whether it’s with kids or seniors.
