Meet Thor

Thor1

Thor really needs a soft place to land! This gentle giant came to us for shelter during the McKinney fire. He was depressed and anxious, clearly overwhelmed by the busy shelter environment. Long after the other fire evacuees were claimed, Thor lingered waiting for his human to come back. Sadly, his owner never returned. He is now beginning a new chapter in life. He needs a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years in peace and comfort.

Thor has low self-esteem and takes time to come out of his shell. We think he’s received some overly harsh treatment in the past. He’s a shy, gentle giant that just needs a loving adopter to take him under their wing. He is peaceful around other dogs, but slow to warm up to new people. He’ll need time to adjust to new circumstances. A calm, confident canine friend might help him feel more at home. We don’t know his history with cats. We think he’d be happiest in an adult-only home–che might feel stressed around children.

If Thor touches your heart, come down to the Ranch to meet him today!

Walk-ins are welcome, but please check our hours before coming to visit. If you’re coming from a long way to meet a specific dog, we encourage you to call us first to be sure they’re available and on site when you visit. Phone: (530) 842-0829.
