In honor of National Adopt A Senior Pet Month, we’d like you to meet a charming senior heeler! Rusty was recently surrendered to the Ranch due to the health of his owner. He was shy and shut down when he first arrived, and no wonder. Now that he’s beginning to relax, his dapper personality is peeking through. If you love heelers but are concerned about the high energy level of a younger dog, Rusty might be perfect for you!
Sweet Rusty takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels safe, he’s eager to ask for attention. As you can see from his video, he absolutely loves his leash walks. He’ll make a wonderful walking companion for anyone who enjoys getting outside for a stroll. We’re still learning about Rusty, but what we know is that he is very treat-motivated and knows Sit. He appears to have limited vision, so a quiet home with a calm adopter would be his cup of tea. He’s a great medium size and has a moderate energy level. He’d love to join you for low-key outdoor adventures, walks in the hills, or strolls through the neighborhood.
If Rusty tugs your heartstrings, call the Ranch to meet this lovable senior lad today!
