This week, we’d like to draw your attention to a really special dog who is still searching for his forever home. Mateo is a stunning border collie mix who came to the Ranch after his owner passed away. We were immediately impressed with his gentle and affectionate temper. This intelligent fellow combines the energy and working drive of a classic collie with the manners of a true gentleman. We can’t believe he hasn’t been snapped right up!
Mateo would make a great addition to almost any family who can commit to giving him the exercise he needs. He is very smart and easy to train, walks well on leash, is fully house-trained, and is comfortable in the car. He’d be a wonderful dog to take hiking or on long walks in the woods, or on any outdoor adventure. At the same time, he’s loves to cuddle with his foster family indoors. He’s dog-social too, and would likely do well in a multi-dog family. In fact, another dog or two would probably help Mateo burn off some steam.
