Have you met our lovebug Junie? This cuddly girl melts like a pat of butter when she sees a friend, and her wiggly happy dance is a joy to behold. Sadly, Junie’s been waiting in our shelter for almost two years now. Are you the human this cutie has been hoping for so long? Read on!
Junie has a super-power: she was born deaf! She’s naturally alert and attentive and picks up on visual cues quickly. Her people-pleasing temper makes her simple to train and she’s very happy to work for treats. She already knows the signs for “Hello,” “Yes,” “Good girl,” and “Sit,” and she’s eager to learn more. Junie also walks well on leash and enjoys all kinds of outdoor adventures. She may be a mature lass, but she still has plenty of pep. She’s a good watchdog but warms up quickly to strangers. As you can tell from the photos, she was quite the ham in our volunteer photographer’s studio!
Junie has successfully shared her kennel with a young male pup who allowed her to be the boss, but in general she prefers having her space to herself. She might prefer to be the one canine love of your life. A meet-and-greet is required with any other dogs to make sure it’s a good match.
