Gorgeous Holly arrived at Rescue Ranch late last fall with a litter of eleven puppies. Estimated to be only one year or so old, Holly was clearly an inexperienced mother. But with the help of her wonderful foster mom she did her best to raise her puppies. Now that Holly’s pups have reached an adoptable age and found forever homes of their own, Holly is hoping that it’s her turn. Are you looking for a lively, joyful, intelligent dog to keep you and your family company? Then Holly may just be the dog for you.
Holly is a highly social girl who loves meeting new people. She’s friendly and eager to show affection–in fact, when you meet her she may jump up and try to give you hugs! Like most young shepherds, Holly has a lot of energy to expend. She will need regular exercise and a large, securely fenced yard where she can run and play. She gets on well with other dogs and would probably love to share her home with another dog or two. She’d make a great addition for an active family who enjoy outdoor adventures such camping, hiking, and swimming.
Holly hasn’t yet had much formal obedience training, but she knows how to walk on leash and “Sit” for treats. She’s learning to be calm and stay on all fours but sometimes her enthusiasm gets the better of her. Thankfully, she’s intelligent and highly treat-motivated, so with patience and practice we know she’ll catch on quickly.
