There’s got to be a home out there for this fantastic boy! Fernando may be impressive to look at, but once you meet him you’ll realize he’s just a cuddly lovebug. Sadly, he came back to us after spending a whole year in what we hoped would be his forever home. That was two years ago now, and he’s still waiting to be noticed and appreciated for the wonderful dog he is. Could you be the human Fernando has been waiting for?
Fernando’s main ambition is to be with humans 24/7. He’s loyal, intelligent, and deeply affectionate. He simply adores being the center of attention, and he’ll never forget a friend. Whenever he can, he gives full body hugs to his caretakers. But when he can’t be with humans, his favorite thing in the world is… rocks! Staff have dubbed him our resident rockhound, because collecting and showing off his rocks seems to be the way he copes with anxiety and entertains himself when he’s alone.
Fernando can get along with other calm dogs after a proper introduction. But we think he’d prefer to be the one canine love of your life. He walks on leash, and though he’s quite strong, he’s also correctable. He’ll need a confident owner who can redirect him when needed. The great news is that he’s eager to please, excels in basic obedience, and is crate-trained and house-trained. He even loves small children and enjoys car rides!
