Meet Darcy

Darcy

If you enjoy long walks or runs, trips to the beach, mountain hikes, swimming, fetch, frisbee, and sharing plenty of affection, then we might have just the dog for you!

Darcy is a very handsome, friendly, playful, energetic young shepherd mix. He came to the Ranch via the county shelter earlier this year. We don’t know anything about his history or why he ended up as a stray, but we’re delighted to give him a second chance at finding the perfect forever home.

Darcy has plenty of bouncy enthusiasm but is easy to train. He already walks well on leash, though he needs to be reminded not to pull, and he knows how to “Sit” for treats. With his intelligence and natural attentiveness, learning additional obedience cues will be a cinch for him.

He’s a very smart, social boy and makes new friends easily with dogs and people alike. His rough-and-tumble play style can be a little overwhelming for shy or sensitive dogs, but he just really wants to play! He’s eager to please and quick to correct. We don’t know his history with cats.

We think Darcy would make a great best friend for an active person. He might even be an ideal travel companion. Come on down to the Ranch to meet this special dog today!

Walk-ins are welcome, but please check our hours before coming to visit. If you’re coming from a long way to meet a specific dog, we encourage you to call us first to be sure they’re available and on site when you visit. Phone: (530) 842-0829.
