Gentle momma Fables is looking for a soft place to land! This sweet girl had a very rough start in life and she’s still regaining her trust in humans. She’s made so much progress since she first came to us and is ready to blossom in a quiet home. All she needs is a loving, patient family to help her find joy and confidence. Fables has clearly known some rough treatment in the past, but she’s ready to leave that behind her and discover what a dog’s life can really be. When she first came to us, she was defeated and shut down. But her intelligent spirit soon responded to kindness and within a few weeks she was walking on leash and accepting gentle pats. Always gentle, Fables is still very shy and needs time to gain the confidence to look you in the eyes. Once she knows you, she’s incredibly sweet and attentive. She’s already learned a lot, including how to load up into a crate and ride quietly in the car. She walks beautifully on leash and loves treats, so we know that with time and patience she’ll learn even more.
Fables will need a fence to keep her safe and a calm home without a lot activity. Though she still gets startled by unfamiliar sights and sounds, she genuinely enjoys her leash walks. We know that in the right hands she’ll grow into an amazing companion. She’s peaceful with other dogs and might do well with a confident canine companion to help show her the way.
