Community we are reaching out to you to ask for donations for not 1, but 3, Kitu’s Fund special medical needs dogs that have come to us in the past 3 weeks. All 3 of these gentle wonderful souls came to us with treatable medical conditions and when no families could be found, we knew we had to be there for them.

First in the slideshow is Bruno. Found on the I-5 exit off ramp in Weed, a Good Samaritan picked him up and brought him to the ranch. Bruno didn’t have broken bones but did have many severe lacerations. Through it all, surgery and post surgery follow-up, Bruno has been a gentleman.

Next is Adam-12. Young male found on A-12 in the Big Springs area, also brought in by a Good Samaritan. Adam-12 appeared to have been hit by a car, broken hind leg, and left along the side of the road. If not for the caring community member Adam-12 likely would have died there.

Finally little Milo, about 4 months old, brought to us by Siskiyou County animal control. He was found at Tree of Heaven campground in the company of 2 other dogs. Little Milo is undergoing surgery today for a broken leg and a broken rib along with some tendon damage to another leg. Once his medical needs are met he is headed to the caring home of one of our awesome fosters for his recovery.

Working closely with the amazing and compassionate staff at the Ashland Animal Medical Hospital we have been able to help these 3 pups in their time of great need. To date the expenses associated with these complicated cases totals $6,300.00. These pups are why we have a KItu’s Fund but we can only help as long as there are funds available. We need to replenish Kitu’s Fund if we are to be able to continue to be there for dogs like Bruno, Adam-12, and Milo when their need is great.

Last year our Kitu’s Fund expenses were $22,000.00. This kind of help this is only possible when a community pulls together. Last year generous donations from individuals, and a grant from the Arthur R. Dubs Foundation in Medford Oregon allowed us to be there for dogs and their families in need. We hope you will considering being there for the dogs and make a contribution to Kitu’s Fund. If all of our followers who like us could contribute just $10.00 we would more than double the amount available in Kitu’s Fund last year.
