If you have landed here you likely saw our puppies on our Facebook page. We start sharing the journey of our foster puppies as they grow and mature in their foster homes. Understandably as newborns or under 9 weeks of age they aren’t yet ready to go home. So, the puppies posted here are now ready for us to receive your application. If you see the puppies on our Facebook page but they don’t yet appear on this page we are not ready to begin receiving and processing your adoption application. Before the puppy’s photo appears on this page we simply do not have the staff or volunteers to process your adoption application. We hope you understand that our efforts are to place the puppies in the best home possible for that puppy and to ensure fairness and considered review of all applications.
A little bit ABOUT OUR PUPPY ADOPTIONS
When you adopt a puppy from us she/he will have been raised in a home environment with one of our puppy foster families. Puppies will have been socialized to people and children, often other dogs, maybe cats. Before going home all of our puppies will:
- Have at least their first two puppy shots for parvo and distemper as well as other common illnesses.
- Be wormed as appropriate.
- Had puppy wellness exam at about 8 weeks with our veterinarians at the Ashland Animal Medical Hospital
At 6-7 months we will ensure through our veterinarians that they receive:
- All their adult vaccines including rabies.
- Dewormed if necessary.
- Receive a microchip and be registered with Found Animals (https://www.foundanimals.org/)
- And they will be spayed or neutered by our veterinarian or the adopting family provides Rescue Ranch with proof of spay-neuter from their own veterinarian.
Puppy adoptions are similar to our dog adoptions however they require a commitment between the adopting family and Rescue Ranch. We strive for the very best care of our puppies and starting them off right with the best of health care is important. We also require that all of our puppies are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age. The $300.00 adoption donation for our puppies reflects our commitment to our puppies and to the adopting families. After they have been adopted we will contact you when they are about 6 months of age to arrange their follow-up medical needs. At that time they will receive a rabies shot, microchipped, and we will arrange a spay/neuter with our vet.
