Beautiful, intelligent, funny, playful guardian dog has learned many things since we rescued her two years ago. She is fearful and learning to trust humans, good with our mini-daschund and plays with our cat. Has learned: house-trained, loose-leash walking, sit, stay, wait, a bit of fetch, leave it and is consistently improving on recall. She loves to play, sleeps by our bed all night and likes being in our family pack. Rides well in car. Guards our home and property, barks to alert us and can be redirected with food and voice command. Wears bark collar outside. Ignores turkeys, deer, bikes, people, cars on walks. Pays attention to squirrels and bunnies but doesn’t follow. She is becoming less reactive to other dogs but still needs help with that.
Our professional trainer agrees that she would benefit from more activity/work to help her grow confidence and calm. He also believes she can be successfully trained out of remaining issues (fearful, mouthy).
Sabrina’s DNA shows that she is bred intentionally through 3 generations consisting mostly of 4 breeds – Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd x Great/Pyrenees/Marameer. We think she needs a job and or challenge.
