Sophie has all the qualities to make an adopter’s dream come true! This beautiful (but camera shy) lady came to the Ranch more than a year ago as a local stray. While we don’t know much about her past, it is clear she spent time with humans. All she needs now is a family of her own! Could it be yours? Read on!
Though she’s out of the frenetic puppy stage, Sophie still has the energy and curiosity of a teen-ager. She’s equal parts sweet-tempered and eager to explore. She is an affectionate, cuddly dog who warms up quickly to new people and has a deep desire to please her humans. So far, she’s learning to walk politely on leash, Sit, Wait, and Come when called. She’s enthusiastic but responds quickly to correction. We know she’ll have no issue learning more advanced obedience cues.
In her foster home, Sophie gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction. We don’t recommend her for homes with smaller animals or dogs under 30 pounds. She is a gentle soul who would likely do well with humans of all ages, though she might be a bit energetic for tots. She rides well in the car and would love to join her family for all kinds of outdoor adventures. At home, she’s happy to romp in the yard and curl up on the couch for a nap.
