Renegade is a super star! It’s hard to believe this staff favorite has been waiting for over five years for a forever home! In fact, Renny has been adopted and returned no less than four times through no fault of his own. Some might call that bad luck but he doesn’t let it get him down. This hefty golden boy is just as cheerful and vivacious as ever. If you like big dogs, you need to meet this magnificent pooch!
Renegade is up for anything and no stranger to adventure. In his time he’s been a boat dog and even an airplane copilot. He’s smart, happy and confident, with all the basics in place. Renny walks well on leash and will Sit for treats. He’s too smart to just lay around all day–this boy needs something to engage his mind. He loves to play fetch and if no humans are available he’ll chase a large ball all by himself. In summer, he loves to chase the hose and soak in the pool.
Renegade’s ideal adopter will give him space to run and take him for long walks or hikes outdoors. He’s a mature lad but still has plenty of energy and won’t be happy cooped up. He has gotten on well with female dogs in the past and might enjoy a canine companion. He’s an excellent watchdog and naturally protective but enjoys meeting new people when out and about on leash. Due to his size, we recommend Renegade to adult-only homes.
