Ella is extremely affectionate with people she knows and trusts. She never forgets a friend! She’s slow to warm to strangers and in general prefers women to men. She’s the kind of dog that wants to stick close to your side, but she’s also curious about the world. She knows how to walk on a leash and harness, but she needs to gain confidence out and about. She’s energetic and athletic (she’d love to have a yard to run and play in!) but always happy to snuggle on a sympathetic lap. We have no doubt that she will make a fabulous couch potato.
Ella is truly a one-of-a-kind gal. Part of what makes her special is that it takes her longer to learn new skills than your average dog. She’ll need an adopter who will help her practice the basics and gradually widen her comfort zone. She would do best in a calm, adult-only household without small animals. Ella has gotten along with some dogs but overall she would prefer to be the one canine love of your life.
