Sweet Kay is a staff favorite, and no wonder. She had a rough start in life and can be wary with strangers. But when Kay chooses a human, it’s a forever bond. She prefers women and melts like a pat of butter for her favorite people. She loves to give full-body hugs and will gladly flop over for belly rubs. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’s the gentlest girl in the world.
Though she didn’t have any training before she came to us, Kay is smart, attentive, and truly wants to please. She walks well on leash and knows Sit. With patience and gentle practice, she’ll learn more in no time. She’s an easy-care, outdoorsy gal who doesn’t ask much. However, she will need to have a canine buddy to keep her company as she’s miserable when left alone. She gets along especially well with male dogs. Given time, we’re confident that Kay could adapt to suburban life. But a couple of acres in the country would suit her even better.
