Though Kay takes her time getting to know new folks (especially men), this lovable lass melts like butter for her favorite people. When she decides she loves someone, it’s deeply and forever! She shows her affection by trying to get as close to you as possible, giving full-body hugs, happily flopping over for belly rubs, and curling her lips into the cutest grins. She’s the gentlest girl in the world with folks she trusts. We suspect that Kay did not have a great start in life, so it’s only natural for her to be cautious until she knows she’s safe.
Kay’s a smart girl, though, and she’s not about to let the past hold her back! She walks well on leash and will “Sit” for treats. With her desire to please and some gentle practice, she’ll learn more advanced obedience cues too. Kay has a laid-back, mellow vibe, and she’s used to roughing it. But she also has a silly side and loves to romp with other dogs when she gets the chance. She is a playgroup staple at the Ranch and gets along especially well with males. She’ll need a securely fenced yard where she can play. While given time she could adopt to suburban life, a couple of acres for her to run around on in the country would be even better!
