I currently live in Mount Shasta California.
Kai is a sweet but fearful Dobie who was dumped at my house six months ago. She is highly intelligent and very energetic, and loves to go for runs both on and off leash. She is housebroken, gentle, and affectionate toward women, once she gets to know you, but is very fearful of men (she barks and growls at men, but has not bitten anyone).
Kai has had basic dog training and responds well to verbal commands. I’ve had her spayed, her teeth cleaned, she’s current on vaccinations, she’s been wormed, and had a benign tumor taken off her hip (which has since returned). She was diagnosed with low thyroid so she takes daily thyroid medication.
Kai has become aggressive toward my 10 year old chocolate lab and the two of them cannot be left alone, which means Kai is crated all day when I’m at work. This is horrible for a dog that’s so energetic. She needs a home where she is the only dog, and an owner who is active and wants a companion on those hikes or runs.
