We have a another baby that needed a friend so we went looking. The first time that we saw Sadee we knew she was the right one. She is such a wonderful addition to our family and couldn’t imagine a day without her. She was heaven sent. ~ Todd
J pups at the ranch today Saturday, January 19th 1:00-3:00. Come get your puppy fix!
Friday evening UPDATE on mom Reba and her puppies.
Five puppies held their own today. Two aren’t interested in eating yet but the sub cutaneous fluids John has been administering every 5 hours or so are keeping them hydrated.
We have heard some concerns about these puppies being at the ranch. To be clear Reba and her puppies were transported straight from the finders truck, to the vet, then to quarantine at our executive directors house. The pups were never outside the vehicle at the ranch. John is following strict protocols for containing the puppies in his shop as seen in the photo. Also John has been on 24-7 care for the puppies and is the only ranch staff or volunteer caring for them.
Thank you for all your support and healing energy sent to the pups. We still have another week of round the clock treatment to go.
I dont always like having to label dogs with a breed when they come into the rescue. What score did you get?
Thursday evening update. This horrible virus took another one of the puppies across the rainbow bridge late this afternoon. We know what their chances are but it was hard not to be hopeful for the little boy after three days. Each day we will keep fighting for them with treatment as they continue to have the will to live. Mom Reba is still not showing any symptoms.
Thank you everyone for your heartfelt support for the puppies. All those who have brought in, dropped off and sent potty pads your donations are greatly appreciated.
And please remind your family and friends parvo vaccinations work and they save lives. Whether you visit your vet or purchase the vaccinations and administer yourself, please vaccinate your puppies as recommended.
UPDATE on momma and her 6 puppies. We have named momma Reba. The puppies and mom Reba are warm in the wood shop at our executive directors shop. Mom is not showing any symptoms and the puppies are exhibiting different levels of effects. All are receiving medication and sub cutaneous fluids. Today John cooked up chicken and brown rice and made pate. Tonight we will see if his culinary skills entice them to eat.
Thank you for all the donations of pee pads. We are using about 100 pads a day right now so every donation counts.
Sharing for the safety of pets for our friends in Jacksonville OR. Please share and please contact the Jacksonville PD to help catch the person responsible.
Tuesday evening update. With much sadness one of the puppies, the one that was the most ill, crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon. The little boy just couldn’t fight off the complications that come with parvo. Mom and the other six puppies are still eating and staying hydrated. John will continue to monitor their needs throughout the night.
Thank you for the donations that have come in. John is changing out pee pads in their crates every 3-4 hours so with seven crates we are going through them quickly. Each puppy and Mom are in their own crates so we can monitor their intake and output individually, but are within sight of each other for company.
UPDATE. All puppies made it through the night and morning. The most critical puppy has benefitted by two rounds of IV fluids. Mom is doing fine. Three more of the puppies are starting to show some symptoms. But still up and eating and drinking. The last 3 so far are eating and drinking and 💩 like regular pups.
Tonight we are asking you to send healing energy and prayers for seven puppies brought to the ranch this afternoon. A community member here in Yreka came home from a work trip and found a mom and puppies left at his home. When he brought them to the ranch it was apparent they were ill. The puppies went straight from the finders truck to our compassionate vets at Ashland Animal Medical Hospital. John was able to rush them there at 5:00 tonight.
The weakest pup tested positive for parvo. They are all now going to be treated for parvo. They are back in our Executive Directors John Golay wood shop being cared for by him. IV fluids, medications, 24 hours care, and now your part; provide healing energy.
Donations of puppy pee pads would be greatly appreciated. We will need many for this litter, and currently have five other litters in foster. Everything we use for these pups must be bagged and thrown away if it cannot be sanitized properly. And if you can, donations to Kitu’s Fund will be so helpful in covering the medical expenses for their care.
We will keep you posted on their status. But be prepared for a sad outcome. parvo is a nasty disease that claims the lives of so many puppies.

Say good morning to the Elves! First morning out in the “big house” with their parvo watch over. They still of course need two more puppy vaccinations but the first hurdle is passed. As a foster we make sure puppies with unknown histories are isolated from others for the first ten days to ensure as best we can that everyone stays healthy. They also passed their first healthy puppy check ups at the vet yesterday, love this elvish crew.
Thank you, US cellular, Tractor Supply and all who donated this week!
Good morning. Sue and Sienna (fosters) are waiting with Bjorn for breakfast.
Do you know any local… Or not local magicians that would be willing to volunteer their skills at Rescue Ranch Yreka? We could make a whole event out of it, or just do it for the dogs. PLEASE SHARE LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!
