Lava Fire Survivor: Paws

Adopt Lava Fire Survivor rescue Dog Paws

Meet Paws,

Some dogs are easy to fall in love with, and Paws is definitely one of these dogs. Paws is a survivor of the Lava Fire who came to us with severely injured feet that have required months of treatment and rehabilitation. Through it all, Paws has been patient and gentle, and his sweet-tempered disposition has endeared him to all of us at the Ranch.

Paws is now looking for a loving new family

We are happy to announce that he is finally ready for a loving furever family, ideally one that will give him plenty of encouragement and positive reinforcement. Paws is a sensitive soul who has come a long way in his ability to trust people. These days he greets us eagerly at the door of his kennel with a happy smile and a wagging tail. He is a watchful and intelligent dog who loves cuddling. He can be shy with new people but is quick to flop over for belly rubs. With his attentive nature we expect him to be a quick study at picking up new skills.

He’s learning to get along with other dogs and might do well in a multi-dog household with the right companions. It’s likely that he has spent most of his life outside, so he may need a refresher course in house-training. With his love for the great outdoors, he would make an ideal hiking or walking partner (keeping in mind that it may take some time for his paws to grow less sensitive to rough surfaces). He has not yet been tested with cats, but we recommend caution when introducing him to small, chaseable animals.

With his gentle nature, we expect that Paws would make a great family dog. We invite you to come to the Ranch to meet this sweet boy for yourself. We feel sure you’ll love him as much as we do!
