Meet Zoe

Zoe, Rescue Ranch Dog of the Week

If you’re looking for a mature dog who still has plenty of energy for adventures, then look no further! Make an appointment to meet Zoe, a beautiful six-year-old German shepherd.

Zoe is looking for a calm home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love. She ended up in a kill shelter because she was showing some irritability with the children in the family. We think she was probably feeling a little overwhelmed and needed a calmer environment. She can be cautious when meeting new people, but once she warms up she shows her loving, snuggly lap-dog nature.

Zoe’s at her best with people who are confident with dogs and can provide kind, clear leadership. She adores walks–in fact, she gets so excited when she sees a leash that she starts doing circles! She’s fairly well-behaved on leash and even knows how to “Sit” and “Shake.”  She can be a bit of a diva and doesn’t like to be physically restrained or rough-housed. Because of this, she may do best in an adult-only household or with older, respectful children.

Zoe might do well with another calm canine family member. We don’t know how she does with cats and recommend caution when introducing her to small, chaseable animals.

Zoe is currently residing at the Rescue Ranch sanctuary. If you are interested in meeting this loveable girl, please call the Ranch to make an appointment to meet her today!

Walk-ins are welcome, but please check our hours before coming to visit. If you’re coming from a long way to meet a specific dog, we encourage you to call us first to be sure they’re available and on site when you visit. Phone: (530) 842-0829.
