Meet Merry!
At Rescue Ranch, it’s always the season to be merry… especially if you ARE Merry!
Merry, a pretty little dachshund/Chihuahua (affectionately dubbed a “chiweenie”) mix, is searching for her perfect home. She recently returned to Rescue Ranch after a couple of unsuccessful adoptions. Merry’s hoping that the third time will be the charm. Speaking of charm, this four-and-a-half-year-old little dog has plenty of it! With auburn fur and dark sparkling eyes, Merry is an eye-catcher. She’s certainly hoping to catch your eye and win your heart with her good looks.
Merry has a dynamic personality, which isn’t at all unusual for a Chihuahua mix. Previous adopters have told us that Merry bonds strongly with one person and is highly selective about allowing other family members into her inner circle. She’s definitely reserved with strangers and is uncertain of herself in new situations. Once you’ve earned her trust, though, her playful personality shines through. Merry prefers women, and we think she’ll do best in a one-adult household. Or maybe she just needs to find the right family who will understand her temperament.
Merry is tolerant with other dogs and very well-behaved on leash. She does enjoy chasing cats, so we recommend a feline-free home, or a home with wise cats. She came to us very well fed indeed and would love some help losing those extra pandemic pounds. We expect her to slim right down on a regular exercise regime that includes walks and adventures. She’s housetrained and not a barker.
