Meet Violet

Violet1

If spring has you out picking violets, come on down to Rescue Ranch and meet the sweetest Violet of all. This is no shy, shrinking violet: this is Violet with a capital V! Happy Vi arrived at the Ranch along with her sister Gladiolus, and both dogs are looking for their forever homes. Both are lively, eager, energetic dogs that would fit in with almost any family. At just about twenty pounds, they are small enough to cuddle on the sofa but still plenty sturdy enough to enjoy vigorous outdoor activities.

Violet is impetuous and affectionate. We think she’s very young (we estimate a year old, or so ), and she still has a lot of puppy enthusiasm. She can be just a touch reserved with new people, but she is eager for attention and warms up quickly. She loves to give hugs and kisses! She can be a bit mouthy, but only because she has trouble containing her enthusiasm.

Since coming to the Ranch, Violet has learned how to walk on leash and is working on the finer skills, such as “Sit.” She would probably do well with children, though she needs to work on her manners (she likes to jump up to say hello and might be a bit overwhelming for small kids). Like her sister, Violet can be quite the escape artist and will literally climb a wire fence to get to her people, so a securely fenced yard is a must. We don’t know her history with cats, but she is dog social and would probably get on well with the right canine companions.

If Violet sounds like the right fit for your home, come on down to the Ranch to meet her today!

Walk-ins are welcome, but please check our hours before coming to visit. If you’re coming from a long way to meet a specific dog, we encourage you to call us first to be sure they’re available and on site when you visit. Phone: (530) 842-0829.
