We’re really surprised this dog is still with us! Handsome Two Bit is a great dog: lively, intelligent, alert, and affectionate. His energy and attentiveness give him the will and the ability to follow clearly given commands. We believe that, with a little training, he would make a fantastic agility dog!
Like many terriers, Two Bit is clear about what he likes and what he dislikes. He isn’t afraid to let you know when you’ve crossed his boundaries. But don’t get him wrong, he adores attention and responds very well to positive reinforcement. He’s longing to be the center of somebody’s world. And, as if that weren’t enough, he’s a great medium size and just 35 pounds. He’s rugged enough to enjoy outdoor adventures but small enough to handle with ease.
Basenjis are famous for not being able to bark. We were told that Two Bit is part basenji, although we haven’t done any DNA testing. What we can tell you, is that he’s quite vocal! Especially when he’s lonesome or bored. He’s generally tolerant of other dogs and gets along well with other confident, medium-sized dogs with similar energy levels. But Two Bit is persnickety and can be a bit selective about who his doggie friends are.
We’re recommending him to home with older, dog-saavy children . We don’t know his history with cats. Occasionally, Two Bit shows some herding dog tendencies and can be a bit aloof at time, but, on the whole, he craves attention and will climb in your lap to get it.
