Meet Samuel

Samuel1

Smart, peppy Samuel was transferred to Rescue Ranch from the city shelter back in May. He’d been there for quite a while without eliciting much interest, and we’re happy to give him a chance at finding his forever family this summer. He deserves so much more than to be cooped up in a kennel!

At just three years old, Sam has his life before him. He’s an energetic, good-natured boy who would be thrilled to be included in outdoor adventures. He enjoys being the center of attention and his ideal life would include several adoring fans who will pamper him and treat him like the star he is. He adores his walks, and, once he settles down from his initial excitement, he is fairly good on-leash. He’s quite strong but responds quickly to praise and treats. He knows how to “Sit” and is working on “Wait.” He’s a smart boy who will eagerly pursue what he wants to do but yields to authority. He just needs a good leader to be the good boy he was meant to be.

A large yard to play in is a must for this active boy, as he becomes anxious when cooped up. When no one is around to play fetch, he would enjoy interactive toys: anything to keep his busy mind engaged. We haven’t tested Sam with other dogs yet but he does not appear to be reactive and may do well with the right canine companions. As always, a meet and greet is required to make sure it is a good fit for everyone. We don’t know his history with cats. Due to his size and energy, we’re recommending him to families with older children.

If Samuel sounds like your perfect match, come on down to the Ranch to meet him today!
