Meet Rusty (aka Knox)

Rusty-1

Rusty, originally Knox, first came to Rescue Ranch as a puppy, along with his mother and a litter of siblings. He was adopted at nine weeks old and recently returned because he was too energetic for his family. Now that he’s in his “teenage years,” he’s looking for a home where he will have plenty of room to run and play as well as regular training and exercise.

Rusty is a deeply affectionate boy and has already had basic obedience training. He walks well on leash and knows some commands, such as “Sit” and “Down.” When he gets sufficient exercise and lots of attention, he is well behaved. It’s when he gets bored that Rusty’s wayward streak is most evident. He has been known to clear a fence line in order to rustle up some mischief, so he needs a large, securely-fenced yard. Mostly he just needs both plenty of  activity and structure, like any young dog. He would make a great hiking companion!

Rusty is familiar with family life and house-trained. He gets along well with children, adults, and other dogs.  In fact, he would absolutely love to have another dog to play and goof around with. We don’t know how he would do with cats or livestock.

If you’d like to meet this handsome boy, come on down to the Ranch today!

Walk-ins are welcome, but please check our hours before coming to visit. If you’re coming from a long way to meet a specific dog, we encourage you to call us first to be sure they’re available and on site when you visit. Phone: (530) 842-0829.
