The hardest part about working at an animal shelter is fighting the urge to take every single soul in your care home with you. After a minute, that urge subsides, but there will be a handful of lovable bugs along the way that will revive the urge.
Massive mastiff-mix sweetheart Roland in one such bug. This gorgeous, gentle giant was a long-term resident of the local county shelter before joining us at Rescue Ranch.
At seven years old, it’s heartbreaking to think how much of his life has been spent in shelters. In spite of it all, Roland is perhaps one of the most tender-hearted and remarkable dogs one could meet: he is a fabulous passenger, an exceptional cuddler, and walks beautifully on leash. Overall he is an incredibly serene yet spectacular presence.
He’s also starting to warm up to his furry friends and neighbors at the Sanctuary. He even befriended a resident momma dog!
Roland is intelligent and has a wonderful temperament. With so many gifts, he’s got a lot to brag about. But mostly, he just wants to spend as much time as possible with you, however he can. Roland is easily the perfect forever friend.
