Pekin is one of our most popular canine ambassadors here at the Ranch. He was raised through our puppy foster program and by some strange chance is still waiting all these months later for a family to bring him home. He’s matured into an all-around fantastic dog and is sure to make someone very happy. If his speckly face and happy grin tug at your heartstrings, maybe you’re the lucky person he’s been waiting for!
Three words to describe this handsome boy are kind, calm, and easy-going. He was a model canine citizen at the Reading to Rescue Dogs event, lying quietly in his crate and wagging his tail every time anyone stopped by to say hello. Though still young, he’s leash and crate trained, and very well socialized with other dogs at the Ranch. You can see the pointer ancestry in his looks, but he has a bit more of the gentle, watchful demeanor of a guardian breed. He’s smart and trainable, and absolutely loves goofing around with his doggy pals.
Pekin would be a shoe-in to just about any family. He’d do equally well with children or older folks, and he’d be a great choice for a multi-dog family. He’s up for hikes and outdoor adventures but would be just as happy to hang out in a yard and explore the local park.
