Octavia originally came to Rescue Ranch as a very small puppy and was raised through our puppy foster program. She and her brother Omar were adopted together and subsequently returned after a couple of years due to some unfortunate family circumstances. Months later they are still searching for their forever home. Are you looking for an alert, intelligent, affectionate, medium-sized dog? Octavia might be just perfect for you!
Like her brother, Octavia is a lively and people-oriented. She can be a bit skittish, intially, but she warms up for pets once she gets to know you. She loves attention and will compete with her brother to get it! In fact, Octavia is quite food-motivated. Since returning to the Ranch she’s been working on taking treats gently, but she still gets pretty excited when she sees a snack. We think her food focus will make her easy to train in the finer points of obedience. She already walks well on-leash and knows how to “Sit.”
Octavia grew up around children and would make a lovely family dog. Overall, she seems to prefer people to other dogs, but she can be polite around canines when her brother isn’t with her (when they are together she can be a bit spicy). With some guidance and training she might even be able to live with a cat. Come on down to the Ranch to meet her today!
