Meet Melgrady

Rescue Ranch, Dow of the Week

Are you hoping to find a good-looking, active partner-in-life this Valentine’s Day? Then come on down to the Ranch to meet your soulmate today! This week, we’d like to draw your attention to a young dog who has been a resident of the Ranch for several months now, hoping to find his perfect match. If you are searching for a handsome, easy-going dog to keep you company and watch over your home, Melgrady might just be your boy!

This winsome lad came to Rescue Ranch by way of Contra Costa Animal Services in the Bay Area, so he’s already quite a well-traveled pup. At just three years old, he has plenty of stamina to enjoy the good things in life. Like many pitties, ‘Grady loves to spend time in the great outdoors. Nature hikes, long walks, trips to the beach… this boy just loves being out in the sun. He’d make a wonderful dog for an active person who enjoys outdoor adventures.

Melgrady needs a partner who can give him kind, firm leadership and lots of positive reinforcement. He is a bit fence reactive, so it’s best to meet him outside his kennel. Though he takes his time warming up to new people, once you’ve earned his trust he’ll be your friend for life. With his natural protective instinct we expect ‘Grady would make a great watchdog or guardian. He has an independent nature and is not at all clingy. Give him a comfy bed at night and a large yard to cruise around, and he will be one happy dog.

Though he’s polite with people, Melgrady is very selective with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home. We’re unsure whether he has any experience with children, so we’re recommending him to families with older children or adults only. We do not know his history with cats, but we recommend caution when introducing him to small animals.

If Melgrady sounds like your perfect match, make a date to meet him at the Ranch today!
