Rizzie is still a young dog, only just entering her adult years. She’s had a good start in life and is house trained, crate trained, and understands her basic obedience commands. She’s a bit on the shy side and takes a little time to warm up to new folks. But she is very gentle with people of all ages, and with a little encouragement is happy to make new friends. She walks well on leash but tends to be a bit nervous in unfamiliar situations. She’ll need a calm, reassuring handler who can continue to introduce her to new experiences.
Rizzie has socialized well with dogs in the past, and is currently housed with a large male dog at the Ranch. She gets along with him splendidly, so we suspect she might be happy to join a multi-dog household. We were told she is not a fan of cats or small, yappy pooches.
