Alfie is a lively, lovely young chihuahua/terrier mix who is looking for a new home. At heart, he’s a loving, affectionate boy, but like all self-respecting terriers, Alfie sometimes has strong opinions about who he likes and dislikes. He’s cautious with strangers and definitely prefers to have his boundaries respected. He warms up to new friends at his own speed. Once he’s made friends, however, he shows his true nature as a smart, alert, joyful dog.
Alfie is an intelligent, obedient boy. He’s had quite a bit of training already and knows how to “Sit,” “Shake,” “Leave it,” “Stay,” and “Wait.” He’s treat motivated and listens well to clearly given commands. He walks politely on leash too. He loves to visit the park or run around the yard. Alfie is highly social and gets along very well with most other dogs. He would likely do fine in a multi-dog family. He even knows how to get along with cats!
Unfortunately, Alfie does not approve of young children. We suspect that the typical child’s energy and activity are just too much for him. He needs an adult-only home (or possibly a home with tweens or teens who understand how to interact with him).
