Meet Lewis,
If you are looking to rescue a dog who needs some extra TLC, may we recommend Lewis! Lewis is a lovely boy who is looking for that special family to give him a second chance at his happily-ever-after. We don’t know his history but he was clearly neglected in his former life. He came to us severely underweight and with some skin issues. Thankfully, he is feeling much better now after a round of antibiotics and lots of good quality food. Lewis is still learning to trust people and can be a bit shy, but once he warms up you will see his wonderful personality shine through.
Lewis is a gentle soul who will make a wonderful family dog. We think he would do nicely in a multi-dog household because he does well with other dogs, big and small–but he does require a home without cats. He is housebroken as well as crate-trained and not much of a barker. He is an expert couch cuddler.
His foster home tells us that Lewis can be anxious but is easy to redirect. We feel he would do best in a quiet, calm, dog-savvy home. Even after his history of malnourishment, he takes food and snacks very gently. He is learning to walk nicely on leash but could use a refresher course in not pulling. He already knows how to “Sit,” “Lay down,” “Stay,” and “Shake.”
