Meet Annie

Sometimes you meet a dog who breaks your heart. Here at Rescue Ranch, Annie is that dog. We have no idea why she ended up at a kill shelter at the ripe age of  10 years old. Sometimes life throws a curve ball or circumstances render it difficult for a family to continue to care for even a well-behaved pet, as Annie must have been. However she came to us, we are just glad to be able to give this sweet older gal an opportunity to find the forever home she deserves.

Annie may be getting on in years, but she still has the energy and alertness to enjoy the good things in life. She relishes her short walks on leash and spending time outdoors in the sun. We know she would LOVE to lounge on a sunny porch or curl up on a comfy bed. Annie adores being with people and being petted. In fact, she thinks she’s a lap dog and will probably try to crawl into your lap for cuddles! She believes she deserves all the attention–and she’s right!

She has done well with other dogs before but is very selective in her friendships. She doesn’t do well with other female dogs. She might do best as the only dog in the house. We haven’t tested her with cats but expect she would be polite with cat friends as well.

Like many senior dogs, Annie could use some help managing her physical needs. She appears likely to be imperfect in her house-training. We recommend using a crate or limiting her access to carpets when she can’t be supervised. A doggy door with access to a securely fenced yard would be a plus! But we firmly believe the rewards of giving this spunky gal the retirement home she is looking for will amply repay you for any small inconveniences.

Do you have room in your heart for this golden oldie? Then come on down to the Ranch to meet Annie today!
