Bringing a new dog home can be a very exciting, but also stressful thing for both you and your dog. Here are some helpful hints to help the transition go smoothly:
- Try to keep the environment calm. If you have other pets try to introduce them one at a time, and supervised. You may even want to keep them on a leash while you introduce the new addition.
- Make sure your new dog has a place he/she feels is theirs and safe. This may be a crate, or dog bed.
- Dogs from Rescue Ranch are accustomed to walking on a leash. Take them for walks, it will be good for both of you!
